It is with both sadness and gratitude that we bid farewell to Senior Relationship Manager, Sue Woodward. Sue has been instrumental in servicing HoyleCohen clients for over 27 years. She began working with Joe Cohen in the late 1980’s and has known many of her clients and their families for over 30 years. Sue will be retiring to their home in Southern Illinois to be closer to her four daughters and seven grand and great grandchildren (all under the age of 5!) ~ Who knows, maybe she will start her own daycare!

While we are sad to see her go, we are thrilled for her to be embarking on this new journey. A huge thank you to Sue for her many years of unwavering commitment to our team and our clients. It has been an honor to work with you.

Here are a few clips from our recent talk with Sue about her background and future plans:

Q&A with Sue Woodward

When did you first start working in the industry?

I moved to San Diego from Maine in 1983 and started working in insurance in 1986. It was there that I met Joe Cohen and in 1988 I joined him and another partner at their small firm. I took all Joe’s notes via dictation for many years and during the early 90’s he started selling securities and growing his business.

What is your favorite part of working in this industry?

Definitely the client relationships I have developed. I’ve known some of our clients for over 30 years and been part of their lives. I have shared in their joys and sorrows, know their kids and grandkids, hobbies and dreams.

What is your favorite part of working for HoyleCohen?

The people I work with. At HC everyone is willing to help each other out and we are all dedicated to providing an excellent client experience. We are truly like a family and have changed much over the past decade but still have been able to keep that close knit family feel which is special.

What does your next chapter look like?

I am moving to southern Illinois to a house we have owned for over 10 years. All four of my daughters live there with their extended families which include 7 grand and great-grandchildren between the ages of 0-5! I am looking forward to spending time with them.
