Please join us in congratulating Chief Compliance and Operations Officer, Heather England, for her win in the San Diego Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40 Business Leaders of 2021.

Heather is well deserving of this honor! As Chief Compliance and Chief Operations Officer at HoyleCohen Heather is responsible for oversight of the firm’s Compliance, Client Service, Human Resources and Firm Administrative Functions. Under Heather’s leadership, firm operations have developed a focus on attracting and supporting top talent, infusing our processes with efficiency and cultivating a strong culture of compliance. As the firms estate and tax planning expert, Heather regularly speaks on (and is passionate about) tax planning and charitable giving topics.

Heather was instrumental in working with the Tech, Ops, Client Service and Compliance teams in ensuring a smooth and safe transition to remote working in March 2020, when the whole firm (3 locations) had to pivot to a remote working environment literally overnight. In an industry that is extremely data security sensitive this was no small feat.

In September 2020, we acquired our first out of state location which Heather was again at the forefront of ensuring the on-boarding of employees, contract changes, and client service/administrative operational transitions were successful.

Since then Heather has spearheaded the hiring of a Senior Human Resource Manager and the forming of the HR department which has on-boarded 7 employees since January 2021. In April 2021 She was named as Chief Compliance Officer, Chief Operations Officer and became Partner in June.

Heather is driven to excellence in everything she does and not shy about advocating for her employees, departments and causes she believes in. She listens to her staff and genuinely cares about their wellbeing and the overall development of the firm. She has been invaluable in the formation of several departments and the shaping of the organizational structure as we move into a larger firm with multi-state, remote employees and locations – always with an eye towards efficiencies of processes, attracting (and retaining) top talent, and creating a corporate culture that is inclusive, fun, and respectful. HoyleCohen is a great place to work because of many of the initiatives Heather has led and nurtured and because of the talent she has worked to attract.

Congratulations to Heather and all the other winners of the SDBJ 40 Next Top Business Leaders Under 40!
