HoyleCohen clients have access to a team of professionals with extensive industry experience. In addition to the rigorous standards of conduct we adhere to as fiduciaries, the large majority of our professional team members maintain industry-recognized accreditations that reinforce our commitment to the highest levels of knowledge, integrity and service.
Credentials you won’t find everywhere. As of 2018, only 20% of financial advisors have the Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) designation. At HoyleCohen, not only do our Advisors and other staff members hold the CFP® designation, but many other members of our team hold credentials relevant to their roles as well.

Advisory and Planning Designations
CFP®
CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER
A Certified Financial Planner designation is awarded to individuals that meet specific education, examination, experience and ethics requirements in the areas of financial planning, taxes, insurance, estate planning and retirement. It indicates that your HoyleCohen advisors are committed to the highest level of professional advice and well versed in all areas of personal finance. As of late 2018, we have nearly 20 CFPs.
CDFA®
CERTIFIED DIVORCE FINANCIAL ANALYST
A Certified Divorce Financial Analyst has completed a training program to refine the skills needed to analyze and provide expertise on the financial issues arising from divorce. These advisors work with you and your attorney to understand how financial decisions made during a divorce can impact your financial future. We have multiple team members with CDFAs, which has been particularly valuable to many clients of our Women’s Practice.
RICP®
RETIREMENT INCOME CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL
A Retirement Income Certified Professional designation encompasses coursework and exams focused on retirement income planning. These professionals deliver creative strategies for managing and using your assets to create secure, sustainable retirement income.
CAP®
CHARTERED ADVISOR IN PHILANTHROPY
A Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy completes courses focused on philanthropic planning, including tax issues, planning tools and giving techniques. Our CAP® professionals can help you articulate and advance your aspirations for self, family and society, collaboratively to develop your vision for giving.
AEP®
ACCREDITED ESTATE PLANNER
An Accredited Estate Planner designation involves coursework in estate planning and requires specified levels of experience, knowledge and time commitment to estate planning matters. The AEP® designee helps design an estate plan to maintain financial security for you and your family.
ChFC®
CHARTERED FINANCIAL CONSULTANT
The Chartered Financial Consultant curriculum focuses on the practical applications of traditional financial planning principles applied to real-life case studies. A ChFC® designee is a skilled financial planner prepared to serve your diverse planning needs.
CLU®
CHARTERED LIFE UNDERWRITER
Thoroughly versed in life insurance and risk management analysis, a Chartered Life Underwriter designee understands the legal aspects of life insurance and can assist you in making estate planning decisions, including will and trust arrangements.

Investment Related Designations
CFA®
CHARTERED FINANCIAL ANALYST
A Certified Financial Analyst is an internationally recognized investment certification that requires extensive training in ethical and professional standards, quantitative methods, economics, financial reporting and analysis, corporate finance, equity investments, fixed income, derivatives, alternative investments, portfolio management and wealth planning. It takes four years on average, and only 20% of those who start the process successfully complete it. HoyleCohen CFA® holders are experts in research, securities analysis and asset allocation, giving them the expertise required to design and maintain our robust investment platform.
CAIA®
CHARTERED ALTERNATIVE INVESTMENT ANALYST
A Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst has completed extensive training in the evaluation of risk-return attributes of alternative investments. Our CAIA® designees play key roles in selecting, analyzing and implementing the diverse strategies on the HoyleCohen platform.
MSF
MASTER OF SCIENCE IN FINANCE
A Master of Science in Finance prepares graduates for a role in investment management by providing a core curriculum focused on investment analysis, portfolio management, modern portfolio theory and risk analysis. Professionals with this degree support a solid foundation for complex investment analysis and strong portfolio management.

MBA
MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
A Master of Business Administration is an internationally recognized degree focused on developing the skills required for the successful management of a business. Having MBA holders on staff ensures that we are committed to organizing and executing the business aspects of our firm with the same high standards as our advisory services. It also can help when clients who own or run businesses are facing important business decisions. As of 2018, we had four team members with MBAs.
JD
JURIS DOCTORATE
A Juris Doctorate recognizes that the holder has obtained a doctoral degree in law. Having someone with a law degree available to review your legal documents means a set of eyes that is familiar with how they are drafted and with understanding and explaining legal language. Our staff JD also has expertise in estate and tax planning.
IACCP®
INVESTMENT ADVISOR CERTIFIED COMPLIANCE PROFESSIONAL
Holders of the Investment Advisor Certified Compliance Professional certification possess specific knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements of Registered Investment Advisors. This certification demonstrates HoyleCohen’s commitment to maintaining a robust compliance culture designed to protect you and the firm.
