What is the key to accelerating your career if you are a female executive in a STEM profession?

That is the question that we discussed with 20 guests and 3 panelists last week at the event STEM Solutions: Leading Edge Strategies for Success, hosted by our Women’s Practice.

This event was the result of a focus group we held earlier this year for women in STEM. The Women’s Practice learned that a wide variety of unique challenges exist for women executives who aspire to leadership roles in their organizations.

This STEM Solutions event focused on trends in leadership, executive recruiting, and executive compensation. Our practice invited notable experts Tina Beranbaum, Principal at Centauric; Robin Toft, President of Sanford Rose; and Annette Winn, Senior Consultant for Compensia, to participate in a workshop that provided solutions to challenges that are derailing female executives. The interactive workshop allowed guests to connect with other accomplished women in STEM and to share their experiences and challenges.

We were very pleased to receive many positive messages and feedback after the event. Several guests contacted us to let us know how much they appreciated this timely and informative topic.

“Thanks for including me in this session. Over the course of my career, I have worked with many, many consultants and recruiters in various capacities. I think the three you assembled for the panel are first rate. What a great service you and HoyleCohen provide for STEM women in our community by bringing them into contact with resources like these.”

In our efforts to continue providing great resources for the STEM community, HoyleCohen and the Women’s Practice will be hosting a follow up roundtable on October 21st for executive women leaders in STEM featuring Gaylene Xanthopoulos, Principal of The Leading Edge. Gaylene will be sharing information that helps leaders in science and technology successfully lead companies in her talk: From Leading Scientist to Business Leader: What are the critical business skills you need to take your team to the leadership level in your industry?
