To earn the CAIA charter you must successfully pass a rigorous two-level exam series requiring a recommended minimum of 400 study hours total, have four years of qualifying investment work experience, and become a member of CAIA Association. The CAIA Program curriculum provides a strong foundation of alternative investment analysis and portfolio management skills, with key topic areas that include real assets, hedge funds, commodities, private equity, risk management and structured products. It also emphasizes the highest ethical and professional standards, and provides the practical knowledge needed in today’s alternative investment industry.
